Oklahoma City, OK asked in Divorce, Family Law and Child Custody for Oklahoma

Q: Ex-wife is talking to my gf's ex-husband and starting drama. Can this be considered harassment against my GF and I?

Both parties have been divorced for about 4 months now. My ex-wife contacted my GF's ex husband via facebook then over phone and texts. Their first contact coincided with them both refusing to transfer custody of the involved kids back to myself and girlfriend. While I utilized a police escort (unsuccessfully) to attempt to get my child, my gf went to his home alone to get her kids. He was riled up by my ex and pressed a bogus trespassing and assault charge against her. The two ex's have maintained contact since then and are now both pressing for full custody. Any advice based on this messed up situation?

A: YES, you absolutely should hire an experienced family law attorney in your county to help with this problem, and the pending custody actions. Sounds like you and your GF made good decisions to ditch these former spouses. Good luck, and don't delay in hiring an attorney. Caution, however, an attorney may only want to represent one of you. As a case developes, there could be a conflict of interest between you and GF, depending on the allegations of your former partners.
