Pauls Valley, OK asked in Family Law and Child Custody for Oklahoma

Q: My son's gf had twin babies a couple of weeks ago. My son may not be the father, but he isn't concerned about that.

He wants to be their father. He has signed their birth certificates already. The woman that could be the other grandmother says she's going to request a paternity test. Her son, the possible father, is in jail, so she has power of attorney. Can she legally do that? What can we do to avoid all This? Please help.

A: Yes she can, pursuant to the power of attorney, on behalf of her son who believes he may be the father. You should consult an experienced family law attorney in your area for help with this issue ASAP, or in any event, immediately after there is any paternity action filed. Good luck.
