Q: Immigration officer walking around the neighborhood with picture looking for parent.
I'm not too exactly sure, but my parent is considered an undocumented immigrant in the country who had a deportation status put on her. She was then put under a status where she would go to immigration headquarters to report herself every year, (decreased to every 3 months now. However, within this last month, an immigration officer has been walking around with her passport picture in hand asking if she lives here. The officer proceded to call her asking to bring proof of residence and what not and out of fear my mother has turned off her phone and left home until she figures out the situation. What is anyones advice on this situation? It seems her lawyer has no grasp on the situation. She is suppose to report herself back to immgration this month. Any help is appreciated.
