Q: Can I have my daughters last name changed upon her request to my husbands last name with out consent of biological dad
She has not had any contact with her biological father in over 5 yrs. Every now and then I receive child support. From him but nothing steady. I now have 3 boys with my husband and my daughter calls him dad he is the only one there for her. She wants more than anything to share the last name of the rest of the family. However I cannot afford the whole adoption process. She cries bc she walks around with this name that means nothing to her and she even goes by Martin at school. Her biological dad removed himself from her life but when asked to sign over rights he told me no. I just want her to feel as though she belongs.
