Q: Question. Since April 2017 these young females trying to get money for an accident they caused can they sue me?

I no longer have the car or insurance. Now the insurance company gave them money but they greedy for more because they saw a nice car and they had a junky car. They was smoking weed and was placed in jail. Now they want $10,000 for injuries the doctors said are just a bruise. Please help!!!!!

A: It doesn't really matter that you no longer have the insurance. If your insurance was in effect at the time of the accident, the insurance company has the duty to defend you in court (if and when the other parties to the accident actually file suit against you). And if they are making demands for further compensation, tell the insurance company to deal with it.

A: Your former insurance company should be providing coverage for the accident. The operative date was that the insurance company was covering you when the accident occurred.

You need to make sure that the lawsuit that is filed gets provided to your former insurance company asap. They know how to deal with the case.
