A: You go to the Family Court where you and your spouse last lived together. For example, if the two of you last lived in Lynn go to the Family Court on Federal Street in Salem. At the desk tell the clerk you want to file for divorce. You will be given a complaint for divorce and told how to fill it out and file it.

In Massachusetts you can now hire a divorce lawyer to do only certain thing for you, for example, complete and file a divorce complaint. It is called Limited Assistance Representation see: http://divorcingoptions.com/Handouts/Limited_Representation_PDF_Handout_Version.pdf
