Q: I'm being charged with criminal case by DCU Bank can Attorney help me at all with this kind of case. It is $7500
I got scammed by facebook agent for facebook grant. They talked me in to opening up an account at DCU Bank back in Nov 2017 They made deposits and had me withdraw them and send them over to Nigeria. 3 payments of $2495 total $7485 I have never heard a thing from DCU I new they closed the acct but they shut the acct down and I never saw what happened. Now there calling me almost 8 mo later and tell be they are charging me with criminal charge. I have heard nothing about this and now they expect me to come up with the $7400 right now or they will file a criminal case on me. Is there anything an attorney can do for me They want there money now and I'm 67 on Social security and make $1200 with nothing left over. I know it was stupid of me. I don't know what I'm to do.
A: First, you need to make sure you are not getting scammed again. Who called and how do they want you to pay this money back? Police and prosecutors generally do not call people and tell them to pay it back or else, they usually just charge the person. It would be a good idea to get an attorney involved.
