Asked in Child Custody and Family Law for North Carolina

Q: What can I do about my child being withheld from me?

Me ex and I separated over 2 years ago, we have a 9 year old. 10 months ago my ex filed for full custody/no visitation. Child has lived with me, visiting mom every weekend and holiday, including summer since separation. The court still has not heard our case, there is no court order on custody. Child is with mom now for her summer visitation.. Social services called me today stating the mother applied for Medicaid for child saying she resides with her and that she attends a different school than she has for the past 4 years. I have learned she is trying to switch child's school and keep her from me completely, next court date is not until October 2..what can I do? This is not fair, not right for our child. The mother has never even signed anything that came home from school, how could she change the school without my agreement? I am very worried for our daughter!
