Bronx, NY asked in Civil Litigation for New York

Q: Wallmart accuses me of something I didn’t do and I got locked up for it

Was in Walmart with a guy I know he bought some stuff at self checkout which was about 650$ and forgot to pay for a mat that was under the cart due to cart was full while he paying I’m sitting about 25 feet away waiting on my phone he pays and is walking to the door I get up to leave also and outside is a cop and a worker and she says I stopped y’all cuz the mat wasn’t pairs for takes us in a room with cooo her and another guy goes thru the receipt see that it was like 36 lighters n cart but 33 was scanned and since it’s over 25!they have to press charges she types up 2 reports for both off us saying the same exact thing as each other but just changed the name his says a mount and mines says the same they checked me had nothing and I didn’t ring up so why accuse me when it wasn’t me and they never check cameras or anything and the town police even said they wasn’t suppose to do that
