Q: Am I required to repay relocation money to my ex-employer? What's the worst case scenario? Can they liquidate my assets?
Hello, I left my job because of violent and demeaning behavior by my boss's boss on me during the meeting. I signed relocation agreement while taking up this job. Now the employer is claiming $33K towards repayment of relocation from me. What are my options? I am still unemployed after leaving that job before three months. I do not get unemployment insurance because I quit. I offered to pay $20K in installments because a lot of expenses they claimed are outrageous and just too much in cost. The agreement I signed did not indicate any cost or ballpark figure at all. What can they do to recover the money? Court may simply rule in their favor but what options they have to actually get the money form me? Thanks in advance.
