Q: If a judge rules against my husband & me in a MSJ, we'll have to file for Bankruptcy Will this affect my license w/FINRA
I reported my employer for corporate theft & sexual harassment to a "confidential" 3rd party Ethics group. The "Ethics" group called my employer directly & told him exactly what I said. The employer then fired me, did not renew my loan that I had with the bank (for whom I was working @ the time) & accelerated the loan due in full in 7 days. My husband & I countersued, but the judge will give a MSJ against us & in favor of the bank because we had, in fact, signed a note w/ the bank. The judge won't know about the impossible position the bank put us in. The bank's HQ is in another state & is unaware of these goings on. We have paid (on a credit card) our att'y consistently over these 2 yrs. to fight on our behalf. The bank has not paid their att'y a dime. We don't have assets to come up w/ the $100K requested settlement (of the original $80K loan). Of the $100K, the bank's attorney's fee is $80K. If we have to file for BR & w/the judgment I'm afraid I'll lose my licenses w/FINRA.
A: Filing bankruptcy should not affect your licenses. You can also raise your employers behavior in an adversarial proceeding in the bankruptcy.
