Q: Deduction of Joining Bonus from FnF settlement
I had received a joining bonus of 1 lac.
I had joined the organization on 27th June.
They paid June's salart of 4 days, the joining bonus and July's salary together on 30th July.
My contract says that I will be liable to pay them 1 lac back if I resign before 1 year from the 'receipt' of bonus.
I resigned next year on the 30th June thereby completing my 1 year. The notice period of 30 days made ny last working day 30th July.
I asked the HR many times regarding if I rssign aftee completing 1year in the company, will I be liable to pay? And I always received a NO.
Now, at the time of FnF, they have deducted the joining bonus and I am liable to pay them 1 lac back. Am I right by law? Can anything be done about it?
