Santa Monica, CA asked in Consumer Law and Contracts for California

Q: Hi, I went to a Honda dealer ship told them we did not want the add on and alarm but still got charged for it.

We told the financier that we did not want the optional add-on and he said we couldn't do anything about it that it was already on the car and he made us sign. We told him we did not want the alarm but still came out on the contract that he charged us for it. I got home and I read that the add-on was optional and was not mandatory. It is a warranty for the paint of the car which we said we did not want and he lied saying it was already on the car. We spoke to the director 7 days later and he also lied saying it was on the car when the contract says its an optional warranty. The director of the Downtown Honda Dealership refused to fix the contract even with the 10 day grace period to cancel a car loan contract.
