Chambersburg, PA asked in Car Accidents for Pennsylvania

Q: At fault driver insurance not paying for repairs under their 80% threshold policy. Is this legal? What do I do?

The at fault insurance company values my car at over $2,400, and the cost of repairs is just below their 80% threshold policy, but they refuse to pay for the damages and are trying to total my car. The Kelley Blue Book value ranges anywhere between $3,000 and $4,500, and their appraisal for the damages is about $1,800 and 80% of their $2,400 valuation of my vehicle is over $1,900.

A: It is their option. If you were hurt in the wreck you have a claim. Feel free to call me. Problem is they don't have to fix it. You can't go by Kelly Blue book but ask for the "valuation sheet." That says how they got to the price.
