A: No--the responsibility is on the driver. However, if you were injured in the crash you would want to report the incident, and would have a claim for your injuries and medical bills in excess of your other coverage. For medical bills resulting from the crash, you have to first initiate a claim with your own insurance, or if you don't have a car, then under the car insurance of anyone in your household who is related to you.
