Q: I hve a verbal agreement and pay $1,000.00 after sending authorization to sign. I did change my mind and cancelling

his services. I told him to return my dep. minus his consultation fees....but nothing happening....can I dispute the charge to my cr. card? if nothing was signed how I can get my money back? How many days should I wait.? thx

ps(service with an attorney) Declaration of heirs/transmission consultation. I did change my mind I found his services was so expensive..this was in Puerto Rico

A: Generally speaking, when there is a contract, it is not cancellable unless both sides agree or other compelling reasons, mostly for the other party's fault--misrepresentation, mistake, anticipatory breach.... Pricing is not one of the reasons you can justify your request for restitution.

A: If the lawyer you paid for services by credit card did not do any work whatsoever--including a conference on the phone or otherwise--I would expect them to refund your fee. If not you could call the credit card company and try to get them to cancel the transaction.
