Tucson, AZ asked in Criminal Law, Federal Crimes and Internet Law for Arizona

Q: Are there Pro-Bono Lawyers that help Criminal Case in Arizona?

My brother is being extradited back to Maricopa County from New Mexico. He has 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor for possession of internet porn. He was told by a defense lawyer found on the internet that it would be over $30,000 to defend him. He has no means. He has lost his job and is incarcerated. Because of the nature of the crime and finances, family is not able to assist with this cost. Does he have other options? The Public Defender hasn't been assigned and he hasn't heard from anyone besides original lawyer that was trying to scare him into hiring his firm.
