Q: My ex wife didn't pay 3 months of rent then she moved five months later they file eviction on me is that legal

Five months after she moves.can they evict me for her not paying rent and my rent has been paid on time and IAM disabled

A: Are both your names on the lease? What was the payment obligation with the landlord? It sounds like you and your ex agreed at one point to split the rent payment, each paying half. Unfortunately, unless the landlord also agreed to that, you both are responsible for the entire amount. If you've only been paying your half, half the rent is not getting paid each month, and the landlord is within legal rights to evict you.

Please note that disability alone does not prevent eviction, although you may want to look in to community resources that may be available to you to help with this situation.
