Tulsa, OK asked in Criminal Law for Oklahoma

Q: I received a five-year suspended sentence on possession with intent.

I've been on supervised DOC probation for 4 years and 3 months. I quit reporting to my probation officer about 6 months ago. There is not a warrant for my arrest. And I paid all my fines and restitution off this month. So I'm wondering, do they have to let me off probation since my fines are all paid? I mean I'm not sure what's going on since I have no warrant. I have no previous drug charges. I have a forgery (felony) about 12-15 years ago when I lived in Kansas. No other charges in Oklahoma. Thank you!

A: Was this DA or DOC supervision? Did you have a probation officer? If so, then it was DOC. Usually, on cases like yours, they only have supervised probation for the first two years, and if there are no violations, many times the rest of the probation is unsupervised. If you have all of it paid off, i would be surprised if they file an ATR (Application to Revoke) on you at this point. if they did, it is just a technical violation and you most likely would be allowed to get back in compliance by reporting.
