A: Judges often order a defendant "discharged" without any written explanation, merely doing so on the record in open court. there might be a transcript of that with a court reporting firm. Another type of an Order might be an Order Granting Discharge: Speedy Trial. Often, an attorney will draft a proposed Order for the judge to review and sign, if appropriate. Some judges will draft their own Order.
