Q: Slander harassment against sibling

DVRO expired last week against my TWIN sister, but thought a year off would quell hatred/slanderous behavior so allowed lapse. As soon as expired, she began phoning and emailing my current employer (new job) with statements of "employee has history or suing former employers to extort money when she is fired" amongst other gems to undermine my relationship with colleagues (sent to my entire team), and has emailed a statement from her personal email stating that she has been stalking my on-line social media and knows the other person I have a civil harassment restraining order against. To me, this explains why a stranger has been stalking & harassing me. Twin has been feeding information to this person, which solves how a stranger would know facts about my family that no one outside of my family knew (child's illness).

Twin threatened with a lawsuit IF restraining order renewed and ended the comment with "move or die."

A: Attorney on hourly basis, not contingent fee. Recovery too speculative, unless sibling has net worth over $10,000,000.00. Insufficient facts to give other opinions.

A: much more info needed.

lawyers normally will not take these cases on a contingency and only on an hourly.

it could be very expensive and very hard to win and then collect.

write out a detailed summary in order to cut down on the time a lawyer will spend taking notes and charging you for the time.

consider small claims where you can sue on your own for up to $10,000
