Kingwood, TX asked in Personal Injury and Car Accidents for Texas

Q: Do lawsuits expire? Is this sometimes we will have to deal with?

My bf was involved in a car accident two years ago. It was his fault. No injuries to either party. The other driver actually cancelled his police call, but we called them anyways. The insurance paid for the car. He was sued by them 6 months ago right before everything closed down . From what I have read courts are not opening back up this year. We can't pay what they want as we are a one income family. We can't afford a lawyer either.

A: Assuming car wreck occurred in Texas, you have two years from date of accident to file lawsuit and to protect your rights. Hire legal counsel as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
