A: Your County Child Support offices can help you get a child support order at no cost.

Most lawyers do not give out free advice but some give free consultations. You could try a free consult if your questions are not answered by Child Support Services.

A: I really like the directness of your question, because people are not only afraid of screwing themselves but having their own attorney screw them ass well, and you don't even get a Kiss! The local bar association probably has a list of family law attorneys in your area, but it is hard to find one that is not going to make you a cripple with his charges. Family Law specialists can charge upwards from $600 per hour, and regularly do in Orange County where there are a lot of high priced cases. But there are a few who are economical, like $200 per hour, and they still do a competent job. The county bar has a Family Law Section, you could call the head of that section and discuss your financial concerns with them, maybe they have a recommendation, they would know all the attorneys practicing Family Law in their area, either by association or because they were on opposite sides. I like Ms. Murray's response, but we all know that Free Help is worth what you pay for it.
