Q: I called 911 for psychiatric help & police wrongfully assaulted & arrested me. Charges dismissed after 14 months. Help

I called 911 for psychiatric reasons after loosing my home and suffering 3 degree burns. The operator asked me to specify whether I needed hospital or police. I specified hospital, Stanford, and that I did not need the police. But the police proceeded to arrive and dismiss the ambulance and fire EMTs and accosted me and wrongfully arrested me, putting cuffs on my burned wrists and hands. They charged me with battery on two police officers.

The charges were dismissed after 14 months right before trial after I wrote a detailed complaint letter to the county council. The county council sent me back a letter saying that I need to file an extension for my claim, but I don't know how to do that . The bar association will not refer me to a lawyer for this and I don't know where to find one. This is a time sensitive matter. Any help would be much appreciated.
