Q: Can it be argued that even if 2 people are on the deed of a house, the one who pays the mortgage is entitled to more?

This would involve a married couple

A: Nope - unless a divorce court judge sees it differently.

A: First, if the mortgage was paid during the marriage, and you were both living there, it's not at all clear that either of you paid more of the mortgage. The mortgage was paid by the marriage. Who gets the house and what the contributions were is a matter in equity for equitable distribution. You need a lawyer.
