Here are some key points to be aware of:

(1) If you have a lease, with a defined term (for example until July 1, 2021), it is likely the landlord CANNOT remove you for any reason before the end of that defined term, except for a breach of the lease.

(2) If you have a lease without a defined term (month-to-month), or no lease, your landlord CAN likely remove you for any reason with at least one-full term's notice.
