It's not right, not fair, is this a law that just tramples the rights of property owner and not the fairly takes in account property , I am not using att and dont plan to. Why are they able to do this, they are compensated for services, why shouldn't I be compensated fo the line running across my property?
A: Utility easements are often written into the legal description of the land. Additionally, even if not, but they have record of the utility easement and that can be proven (which from my experience they usually have their information together before doing any work) - then yes they can without compensation, however, they have to return it to the condition it was before they went across it (again from my experience they usually photo or video prior to crossing). Utility easements have a long history of precedence of land ownership.
