A: Sexual harassment by a business partner is not covered by most statutes that would protect employees unless you were essentially a partner in name only. However depending on the type of sexual harassment that was involved, there are still some remedies available. While you are not an employee, employment law attorneys are usually familiar with sexual harassment in general, and some will have knowledge of the mechanisms that can be used to address it in the non-employee context. You will need to ask the attorney about this.

One issue, of course would be whether or not you wish to dissolve the partnership as you may wish to separate yourself from the situation. Thus you are looking for not just an employment law attorney, but also one that has a good working knowledge of business law.

Good luck to you.
