A: A North Carolina attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for three weeks. Until you consult with a local attorney, there are several issues to sort out here. The most pressing would be handling any violations for not having current insurance. In terms of the other driver, it will make a difference as to who was liable. I hope no one was injured, but the short answer is that if the other side was injured, you could anticipate a claim. If you were not liable, you could still have certain rights for your own recovery, possibly limited by applicable state law for driving non-insured. Look into the cancellation if there are any issues to explore there, such as electronic payment glitch. You should consider discussing this in more meaningful detail with a North Caroline attorney - these issues are state law-specific. I've only outlined a few general considerations. Good luck
