Stockton, CA asked in Health Care Law, Personal Injury, Wrongful Death and Medical Malpractice for California

Q: Is there representation in the Sacramento area? My case is against a hospital & its doctors: misdiagnosis/malpractice

I was pregnant when I went to the emergency department for lower abdominal pain. The doctor and OBGYN diagnosed the pregnancy as ectopic and treated for it the same day. Two weeks later I returned to the hospital to find out that they misdiagnosed me, the fetus was in my uterus and they gave me a medicine designed to kill my baby for no reason. The hospital confirmed and reconfirmed twice before closing out my case. They referred to Planned Parenthood to get an abortion, offering their apologies. And they didn’t schedule any follow up treatment for the ovarian cyst they assumed was the ectopic pregnancy. Upon researching how these cases are handled, I feel the doctors didn’t take the proper measurements before administering me a medicine that would kill my viable pregnancy. And after all that they still didn’t even treat the reason why I went in, the cyst.

A: You need a medical malpractice lawyer. Go to the top of this page and click on Find a Lawyer. Enter Medical Malpractice and Sacramento in the drop down menu. Call a few med-mal lawyers and pick the one you are most comfortable with. Good luck. Patrick Steinfeld

A: You should google a medical malpractice lawyer in your local........

You want to have a medical doctor validate there is malpractice.........and

most of the lawyers I know will not take a case worth at least $1M......

Because I don't practice in this arena, I can't tell you the ballpark worth of the case.
