Q: How do I file a lawsuit against my family for fraudulent activity with my deceased mothers bank accounts and thievery?
My mother was killed a year ago in 2021. My family has intimidated, bullied and lied to me this whole time including present day. They claim that my mother left her life insurance policy to a cousin of mine. I am her only living heir and next of kin. They conducted EVERYTHING without my permission. They immediately following her death; drained her bank accounts using her debit card, gave her car away, took her jewelry and expensive items. I am told by an aunt that one of her brothers takes her things to sell at the swap meet. One uncle lives in her apartment still under her name. His name was never on the lease. They are trying to keep me out of everything. They even cremated her body and is holding on to her ashes and didn't even converse with me prior. I asked to see the life insurance beneficiary document and they forwarded me incomplete pages and to top it off they were two different handwritings. They have illegally taken EVERYTHING. Is it too late to file charges?
A:
Make an appt with a local lawyer..........maybe someone with Probate experience.
Before the appt type up a detailed summary of the facts.
Lawyers would handle a case like this on an hourly, not contingency...in all likelihood.......so show you are organized.
