Hayward, CA asked in Personal Injury for California

Q: I finished all of my therapy treatment for my lawsuit, what will be the next step?

I have a letter from the company admitting there allegations, what do you believe will happen? Do you think they will accept my offer for $500,000?

A: You don't describe your injuries, or the cost of your medical care, or whether you have ongoing physical limitations. However, if you are done with therapy, it sounds like your injuries were not severe or permanent, in which case there is zero chance that your case will settle for $500k, especially since you appear to be representing yourself. You have naive and unrealistic expectations of the civil justice system.

You are out of your depth and are potentially damaging your right to recovery. Talk with a personal injury attorney before you do anything else.

A: I agree with the previous answer.

You provide no information about your injuries, your damages, the company, etc. Without this information, no one can give you a realistic response.

As previously stated, if your injuries were limited to therapy (whether PT or OT), your injuries were probably not that severe in which case a demand of $500,000 is way out of the ballpark.

You should speak to an attorney.

A: MUCH MORE INFO IS NEEDED.

JUST BECAUSE THEY ADMIT NEGLIGENCE, DOES NOT MEAN THEY WILL AGREE TO AN AMOUNT OF YOUR CHOOSING.

A: Half a million is a big number and must be supported by significant injuries. You didn't provide any factual, medical or financial information to support your number. For a large damage claim of this size you should consult with an attorney on this forum. Consultations are always free and your attorney doesn't get paid unless they win your case... so there's nothing to lose by talking. However, you can lose credibility by going in with an unreasonable number. That's a clear sign.
