A: A qualified Amazon attorney would have to take a look at your account and do an official inquiry with the Amazon Seller Central Legal department. Some common reasons for withheld funds include the following, as well as any other breaches of Section 3 of the Amazon Business Solutions Agreement: (1) Allegations you sold Inauthentic Goods; (2) Allegations of Counterfeit Goods; (3) Allegations of Multiple or Related Accounts; (4) Allegations of Abuse of Customers, Review Manipulations, or Diversion of Traffic Violations: Amazon Seller's Code of Conduct (section 3) prohibits influencing customers’ feedback, ratings, and reviews. The regulations of what constitutes "influence" versus proper communications with customers are complicated. You are also prohibited from using your FBA or FBM account to divert traffic to your DTC platform. There are permissible ways of promoting your DTC brand through Amazon by use of the Brand Registry, but again, the rules are complicated and it is easy to make a mistake. The only way to cut through the red tape of the Seller Performance bureaucracy is to have an experienced professional correspond and follow up constantly to get to the bottom of the issue.
