A: If your online bank account has been closed by the bank and they are continuing to charge you a monthly fee, you may want to consider taking the following steps:

Contact the bank: Reach out to the bank's customer service department and explain the situation. Ask why they closed your account and why they continue to charge you a monthly fee. Request a refund of the fees that have been charged since your account was closed.

File a complaint: If you are not satisfied with the bank's response, you may want to consider filing a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). The CFPB is a government agency that oversees banks and financial institutions and can investigate complaints of unfair or deceptive practices.

Contact an attorney: If you have been unable to resolve the issue with the bank or the CFPB, you may want to consider consulting with an attorney who specializes in banking law. An attorney can review your case and advise you on your legal options, including the possibility of filing a lawsuit against the bank.

It's important to note that banks have the right to close accounts for a variety of reasons, including suspicious activity or a lack of documentation. However, they are required to follow certain procedures and provide notice to the account holder. If you believe that the bank acted unfairly or violated your rights, you may be able to seek legal recourse.
