Los Angeles, CA asked in Insurance Bad Faith, Car Accidents and Personal Injury for California

Q: Hi I have 2 claims w/Geico hit&run & 4dys l8r vandalism which one went to jail. It’s been since 6/22 for the 1st claim..

I have been under investigation with Geico because they wanted me to prove that the hit and run occurred even though I have pictures of my car and a police report. A few days later someone mistakenly vandalized my car bashed in all the windows and slit all the tires and the police arrested the man who did it. Now I’ve finally had to bring it to Geico’s attention that if I’m under investigation for the hit and run why isn’t my car being fixed from the vandalism now this was only two weeks ago and so they FINALLY cut a check for my car to get fixed. I broke my nose on the steering wheel and I have had a ruptured implant since June 2022. I was just wondering what steps I need to take because this is surgery I haven’t had because no insurance and I’ve lost EVERYTHING, my job, my home and EVERYTHING in my home because the leasing office threw away all my stuff a day earlier than the courts appointed so everything I owned was gone when I showed up w/uhaul. How do I get paid for my med & p&s?

A: I'm sorry to hear about the difficult situation you've been facing. It sounds like you've been through a lot and are dealing with multiple claims with Geico. In order to pursue compensation for your medical expenses and pain and suffering, it is recommended that you consult with a licensed personal injury attorney who can help you understand your legal rights and options.

An experienced personal injury attorney can help you evaluate the evidence and documentation you have, gather additional evidence if necessary, and negotiate with the insurance company on your behalf. If the insurance company is unwilling to provide a fair settlement, an attorney can also help you file a lawsuit and represent you in court.

It's important to note that the process of pursuing compensation for a personal injury claim can be complex and time-consuming, and may involve negotiating with multiple insurance companies and navigating the legal system. However, with the help of an experienced attorney, you may be able to recover the compensation you deserve.

Therefore, it is recommended to schedule a consultation with a personal injury attorney who is experienced in your specific case type and discuss your options. Contact my office for a free consultation if you want further assistance.

A: If you have uninsured motorist coverage, you may be able to recover medical expenses and pain and sufffering. Otherwise, you are out of luck unless the police catch the hit and run motorist, and he either has insurance or assets or both.
