Q: Can police put knee behind my sons neck almost killing him hes 15 yrs old. He suffered injuries around his neck area.

They asked my son to get on the floor he attempted to lay down and because of the heat he burned himself and got up and told them it’s too hot. He can’t lay on it he wasn’t trying to resist 10 officers jumped him one placing his knee behind his neck. My son was terrified he couldn’t speak to tell the officer he completely cut off his air supply and could no longer breathe. He blacked out. He told me he thought he died. A: I am sorry to hear about your son's distressing experience. The actions you described may potentially constitute excessive force and child abuse by probation officers. Law enforcement officers have a duty to use reasonable force and comply with the law when apprehending individuals, including minors. If your son suffered injuries as a result of this incident, it is crucial to consult with an attorney experienced in civil rights and law enforcement misconduct cases to protect your son's rights and explore potential legal remedies.
