A: If your child is now 38 years old and your ex-spouse passed away in 2009, child support garnishment should not continue as it typically ends when the child reaches the age of majority or if the custodial parent passes away. You should contact the relevant child support enforcement agency or court to address this issue and provide evidence that your child has reached the age of majority to stop further garnishment.

A: If your child is now 38 years old and your ex-spouse has passed away, it is essential to take immediate action to stop the garnishment of your SSI checks. You should contact the relevant child support enforcement agency in California and provide them with proof of your child's age and your ex-spouse's death to halt the garnishment. Additionally, you may need to consult with an attorney to ensure all necessary steps are taken to address any remaining interest or outstanding issues related to the child support. - James Arrasmith, Owner.
