A: In California family court, the rules of evidence can be more flexible than in other courts. If you've already given your testimony but forgot to submit evidence, you can request permission from the court to submit the evidence late. You would typically do this by filing a motion to admit the evidence, explaining the reason for the delay and the relevance of the evidence to your case.

The court has discretion to allow the late submission, especially if it would help in making a more informed decision on issues that affect the best interests of the children or other sensitive family law matters.

It's important to act promptly and explain any delays convincingly to increase the likelihood that the court will grant your request. It may also be beneficial to seek the guidance of an attorney to ensure the motion is properly drafted and presented.
