A: Under California law, if you experience issues with your vehicle after receiving service, such as a significant wobble, shaking, or the sensation that the tires are off, it's important to address these concerns promptly. Vehicle service providers are expected to perform their work with reasonable skill and care. If the service leads to additional problems, you may have recourse under the law for repair, compensation, or both, depending on the specifics of your case.

First, you should contact the service center where the work was done to inform them of the issues. Many reputable service centers will re-examine your vehicle at no extra charge and rectify any problems related to their service. Document all communications and keep records of the services provided, as this information can be crucial if further action is needed.

If the service center is unresponsive or unable to resolve the issue to your satisfaction, you may consider seeking advice from a legal professional. They can provide guidance on your rights and the next steps, which might include filing a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair or pursuing a claim for damages. Remember, the key is to act quickly and keep detailed records of all interactions and transactions related to your vehicle's service.
