Asked in Consumer Law and Business Law for Florida

Q: Is it legal for a billionaire company to take money out of my account for a majority of 10 days for out of stock items.

If the item isn’t in stock, that money was withdrawn from my account on what they call a “temp hold” but that’s really not the case. My account is short that original amt and have to go somewhere else to buy it as well as wait usually around 6 days to receive the unavailable item funds back, if I even receive it back. I have to make sure that I go back and see if it was even actually put back into my account. Took me a while to figure out that this is happening bc of the complexity. #2 I caught yesterday is you allow substitutions and say if it’s not available. You choose a sub that may be a cents or dollar more, they again charge your card when it was only a sub and not even shopped for. Holds that money ranging from cents to many of dollars depending on your sub for 10 days. I have to chase my money down plus spend it again. Documented these things, as I know there’s others out there too. The company and bank told me. Is this legal? If so, it needs to be thoroughly examined
