Tucson, AZ asked in Landlord - Tenant for Arizona

Q: Landlord sent bill for rent not paid for months after I moved out due to safety concerns

Last lease ended September 2023. No lease was ever provided despite multiple attempts to obtain lease. We continued paying the old rent amount and requesting a lease. Old lease stated nobody with criminal records can live in building, and written 60 day notice was required. New neighbor ( a parolee ) moved in next door and immediately began harassing us. After the situation with our neighbor became unlivable (stalking, and threats) we called and left over 10 voicemails for our landlord to call us back. I called January 20th stating we are moving out, received no call back. February 5th I provided written notice that we would move out by the end of the month. Landlord wrote back a week later stating they are sorry to see us go, that we were excellent, and to call if we needed anything. Today I received a bill for two march rents, a random small march rent fee, aprils rent and late fees. Am I obligated to pay all of this? Its almost 4x rent. No lease was provided or signed by any party
