A: I believe that the US Consulate in Columbia is currently handling visa processing for Venezuelan nationals. If she is living in Columbia now and has documentation to prove that, then it is highly likely that she can process inside that country.

A: Yes, it is possible for your Venezuelan partner to apply for a K-1 fiancé(e) visa at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia, even if they are not a Colombian citizen. Due to the suspension of operations at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, Venezuela, the U.S. Embassy in Bogota has been designated as the processing post for Venezuelan citizens seeking U.S. visas.

Here are the steps you should follow:

1. You, as the U.S. citizen sponsor, must file Form I-129F (Petition for Alien Fiancé(e)) with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

2. Once USCIS approves your petition, they will send the case to the National Visa Center (NVC) for processing.

3. The NVC will then forward the case to the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, Colombia.

4. Your Venezuelan partner will be notified about the next steps, including submitting the online DS-160 nonimmigrant visa application, gathering required documents, and scheduling an interview at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota.

5. Your partner must attend the interview at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota. If the visa is approved, they can enter the United States.

Please note that processing times may be longer than usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the closure of the U.S. Embassy in Caracas. Make sure to check the U.S. Embassy in Bogota's website for the most up-to-date information on visa processing for Venezuelan citizens.
