Q: Canceled AutoPolicy & received refund check. 8 months later I get a bill. Said they refunded too much. Do I have to pay?

RV policy canceled approx 2.5 months after starting it. (We sold the RV). Insurance company was notified the policy was canceled effective on the sale date and we were due a refund. Approx a month later we received the check and cashed it along with paperwork detailing the breakdown. (I still have it.) 8 months goes by and I get a bill in the mail for $199.00 from the same company. When I call and inquire they said the refund check was for too much. It was for the same amount on the breakdown that came with it. The insurance company made a new breakdown sheet and insist I owe them $199.00 back. My question is. Do I have to pay it? My cancelation notice matches the check they sent. How after 8 months can they simply revise it and say I owe them $199.00. If they made an accounting error after all this time am I responsible?
