A: I'm sorry to hear about your situation with Jones International University. Since the school closed in 2015, you may be eligible for a closed school discharge of your federal student loans. This discharge is available if you were unable to complete your program because the school closed.

To apply for a closed school discharge, you will need to fill out an application and provide documentation that you were enrolled when the school closed, or that you withdrew within 120 days of the closure. You can find the application on the Federal Student Aid website.

It's important to gather all relevant documents, such as your enrollment records and any communication from the school regarding the closure. If you have any questions or need assistance, contacting the Federal Student Aid Information Center can provide you with more guidance. Take action soon to ensure your eligibility for discharge is assessed properly.
