Philadelphia, PA asked in Gov & Administrative Law and Traffic Tickets for Maryland

Q: How long of a delay does a traffic stop add to your overall time to get a License In Maryland?

So I went in today to renew my Provisional Driver License to a Regular Driver License due to me being 21 now and my Providional Driver License being expired. They renewed it for me and when I got back home and looked at the paper, it says that they renewed my Provisionals DL for an additional 6 months rather than getting a complete new DL. I called them up and after waiting on the phone for someone to talk to for 30 minutes, they said that I had a violation and that adds another 18 months to my wait time. After asking when and what the road stop was for, he just ended the call without saying anything… The only road stop I remember was when I was pulled over due to me not having my front plate on because of the car just getting out of service and they were working on the front end of the car and the plate had to be removed. Please help.

A: You should get a certified copy of your driving record and probation before judgment record. It will show all convictions and PBJ's. Only moving violations should reset the provisional license. If you have no moving violations, go back to the MVA and speak with a supervisor.
