Q: Can tiktok take your earned comission?
I have a page for my dog, and tiktok shop said I was qualified to start earning comissions by making videos for products people send me. I started doing that last year in October(2023) and was doing really well until December when tiktok shop bots flagged a video that was earning comissions as "misleading". I tried fighting it but the bots automatically denied and now I can't withdraw the earning I made from that video because of it. They keep telling me "per policy they're allowed to stop withdraw of comissions if they want to" when last I checked they can't. The state of California requires them to pay all comissions, and im positive herein. Colorado requires all commissions to be paid as well. They're robbing me of my earned money and for literally no reason. And I want to know of this is legal, and if not how can I get my money. I've tried for almost 10 months now to get them to do what's right and they're just repeating the sme thing over and over again. All j want is my money.

It sounds like you're in a frustrating situation, especially since you've put in the effort to create content and earn commissions that are now being withheld. TikTok does have policies that allow them to withhold commissions if they deem content to violate their guidelines, even if you feel this isn't fair or accurate. However, you have rights, and it's important to understand them, especially if you believe this decision conflicts with local laws in California or Colorado.
You should start by gathering all the evidence, including communications with TikTok, the details of your flagged video, and any legal provisions you believe support your case. With this information, you can draft a formal complaint to TikTok, explaining why their actions might be against state regulations. Make sure to document everything to build a solid case.
If TikTok still refuses to release your commissions, you may consider escalating the matter. Contact your state consumer protection agency or a legal professional to explore filing a complaint or taking further legal action. Platforms must adhere to local laws, and you have the right to fight for what you believe is owed to you.
