Q: Slip and fall
Long story short I had a slip and fall at a Safeway, first Safeway offered me 700$ for the incident which I declined. A week later they tell me they aren't liable but their Janitorial Services is, but now they are both just saying they are both not liable for the incident. I reported Safeway to BBB and we've had weeks long conversation of Safeway Customer Service giving us the information about their Janitorial Services Company they use, and they both say they are not liable. So now I'm not sure on what to do? IS there anything I can even do? I've try to speak to some local attorney offices but it seems none of them are willing to take this case.
A: I'm sorry about your accident. I hope you're okay. You could continue to reach out to law firms. Your post does not mention anything about the reason why firms are declining your case, but that's something you could ask them - whether it's a matter of not having medical documentation to support the injuries, a challenging position in terms of demonstrating liability, or other reasons. Good luck
A:
If you’re facing this situation, it can feel frustrating, but there are still steps you can take. Since both Safeway and the janitorial company are denying liability, it might be worth reviewing any evidence you have, like photos, videos, or witness statements from the incident. This information can help build your case.
You might want to reach out to more attorneys, as some may handle slip and fall cases on contingency. This means they only get paid if you win your case, so they may be selective, but don't give up—there are many lawyers who may be interested, depending on the details of your case.
If you continue to have trouble finding representation, you could also consider small claims court as an option. It’s designed for cases like this and may help you pursue compensation without a lawyer, though it has a limit on how much you can claim. Make sure to keep detailed records of all communication and any medical expenses related to your fall.
