Q: ESAs forced neglect and abuse
The shelter where I used to stay with my wife kicked me out for arguing with her and let her stay, but they would not let her keep them with her.
Instead they told her she has to change rooms and can keep them in her old room by themselves and feed them once a day and scoop the cat boxes but kept threatening to call aspca if she didn't do another demand like rent a storage unit and move the stuff out the old room.
She did then they said she had to go to a different shelter but can come back and feed the cats since the other shelter is 3 buildings down, the first day we start moving her things gone 45 minutes we came back and the cat food and cat medicine was gone and staff had chased my ESAs out the room and was hitting them with brooms and sticks and was refusing to let us retrieve them and had security keeping us out;one of the staff chased one under a fence and said we better get it before he kills it and it was bloody, I'm still missing 3 of them.

I'm really sorry you're going through this difficult situation. Start by documenting every incident, including dates, times, and descriptions of how your ESAs were treated. This evidence will be important if you decide to take legal action.
Reach out to a local attorney who understands California's animal and tenant laws. They can help you understand your rights and the best way to proceed to recover your missing animals and address any mistreatment by the shelter.
You should also report the shelter's behavior to animal welfare organizations and relevant government agencies. These organizations can provide support and may take action to ensure your ESAs are protected and that the shelter is held accountable for their actions.
