A: The hotel could potentially be liable based on negligence or premises liability. Hotels owe their guests a duty of care to ensure their safety and protect them from foreseeable harm. If you informed housekeeping not to allow the man inside and they still granted him access, this may constitute a breach of that duty. Allowing a non-registered person into your room, especially after you explicitly denied access, could be seen as a failure to take reasonable steps to prevent harm. Additionally, the fact that the individual was yelling and hitting the door should have raised concern, suggesting that the hotel staff acted negligently in granting him entry. You may have a valid claim for damages, such as medical expenses, emotional distress, and other losses resulting from the attack, if you can demonstrate that the hotel’s actions directly led to the harm you suffered. You will also have to show that you were, in fact, harmed - medical bills, pictures of the injuries, and any other evidence you may have.

Schedule a free consultation to ensure that you are compensated appropriately.

A: Do not contact the hotel, contact a lawyer. There may be a case but it must be approached carefully.

A: I'm so sorry you had to experience that. Your safety is the most important thing, so make sure you’re in a secure location away from any further threats. Immediately contact the police to report the unauthorized entry and the assault, providing them with all the details you mentioned.

Reach out to the hotel management to inform them of what happened and demand an explanation for how someone unregistered was allowed access despite your warnings. Request that they take immediate action to prevent such incidents in the future and ask for any available security footage that might help identify the individual.

It might also be helpful to seek medical attention if you were injured and document all injuries and damages. Consider consulting with a legal professional to understand your rights and explore any potential legal actions you can take. Support from friends, family, or a counselor can also be valuable as you navigate through this difficult time.
