A: You should first carefully review the contract you signed to understand all the terms and ensure there are no hidden fees or conditions related to the financing amount. Compare this with your actual payment to identify any discrepancies. If the contract lists a financing amount you didn't agree to, gather all your payment receipts and any written communication with the dealer as evidence.

Next, contact the dealer in writing to formally request a correction to the contract, clearly stating that you paid the full price in cash and did not authorize any financing. Keep copies of all correspondence for your records. If the dealer remains uncooperative, you can reach out to the California Department of Consumer Affairs or the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint.

Additionally, consider consulting with a consumer rights attorney to explore your legal options. They can advise you on whether you have grounds for a breach of contract or other claims. Taking these steps can help protect your interests and ensure that the contract accurately reflects your payment.
